"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world." (1 John 4:1)

We live amidst a sea of systems, both secular and religious. Some are beneficial, others are harmful. Is it always easy to tell which is which? False doctrines, teachings, and movements abound. How can we discern truth from error? What is solid rock and what is sinking sand? Does it matter what we believe about God, Jesus, and salvation? Isn't everyone basically worshiping the same God?
This website is dedicated to answering those questions. Our purpose is to help Christians understand the different practices and beliefs of pseudo-Christian groups and movements and to explain how those practices and beliefs are at variance with biblical truth. We also desire to equip Christians with the knowledge necessary to combat false techings.
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge," Hosea 4:6
While the primary focus at this time is on Mormonism (because of our personal backgrounds), we will be be adding articles over the next few months to address the following: Christian Yoga, Dominion theology, Contemplative prayer, Labyrinths, Emergent Church, Replacement theology, Anti-semitism within the church, and more

* We are not telling anyone who to vote for in any election. We do not advocate not voting for a candidate solely on the basis of the candidate's religious beliefs. A person should vote for the candidate that best represents his or her own values. We encourage you to examine the character, beliefs, affiliations, and voting records of political candidates to see if they stand for the same things you do; then vote for the person you believe will do the best job.

There is a wide range of views and adherence to Church teachings among Mormon politicians. For example, Harry Reid is extremely liberal and seems to find it easy to separate politics from religion. On the other hand, presidential hopeful, John Huntsman, once stated, "I find it impossible to separate life and corporate involvement from my religious convictions" (TIME Magazine, Kingdom Come, Aug. 4, 1997).

Knowing the religious convictions of a candiate (and to what degree they live out those convictions) can be very helpful in making a decision on who to vote for, but in our opinion should not be the sole consideration.

"For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God's powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile."

(Romans 1:16, CJB)
